Our Minister

Robert McElwaine's easy way and kind-hearted manner truly reflect all that is good about Southern hospitality.  Robert's presence at Leander Presbyterian has been God's gift to all of us.

Robert is a graduate of The Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, Texas.  His journey to the ministry brings an understanding and appreciation for the everyday struggles of life and faith within his congregation.  At Leander Presbyterian Church, Robert encourages us to see how God's grace is actively at work, helping us mature in our faith as we search for the presence of the risen Christ in our midst, in our community and in the world..

Kathleen  McElwaine, Robert's wife,  is a wonderful artist whose work can be found throughout Central Texas.  She used to paint on the Metro train while commuting to and from work at the University of Texas.  She became known for the "bus paintings".  Search for Kathleen McElwaine on the web to see her work.  She and Robert have two adult children and four grandchildren.
